Policies

  • Adult Makeups

All adult students eligible for a make-up will receive a courtesy slot in one of our Student Practices, with a max of 3 make-ups per session. We will no longer be able to offer make up slots in regular classes. How does it work? If you give us at least 24 hours' notice of an absence, you are eligible for a make-up. If you cannot find a time before the end of the session, no credits or refunds will be issued.  Submit all upcoming absences and make-up dates to our make-up website: makeups.phillycircus.com. Unfortunately, you cannot make-up a make-up slot and there are no make-ups for Student Practice.

  • Cancellations and Refunds

A cancellation notice is required from you by email before the beginning of your second class of the session to receive a credit or a refund for remaining classes. Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a credit or refund. We reserve the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified by phone 24 hours prior to the class and refunds will be issued by check or by credit to your charge card.

  • Lateness

Students in Tots Circus, Kindercircus, Youth Circus and Kids & Teens Aerial classes who arrive more than 10 minutes late to class will not be allowed to join in the class. They are permitted to take a makeup class in this circumstance. In all other aerial classes, students arriving late are expected to do a 10-minute warmup on their own.

  • Intro to Aerials & Intro to Circus Workshops - Cancellation, Late and Snow Policy

Reservations scheduled within seven days of an Introduction to Circus Arts workshop are final.  For reservations made for workshops more than seven days away, the participant has the flexibility of rescheduling the class once, with a minimum of seven days notice before a class is scheduled to run.  If a participant cannot make a scheduled workshop, the participant can give away their certificate to a friend or family member.  The person using the certificate must still be 16 years or older, and have not used a previous Groupon Certificate for this workshop.

For safety reasons, participants who arrive late to the workshop must do a mandatory 10 minute warm-up before participating.  Students who are late or do not show up for a workshop, either paid or with a discount certificate, will forfeit payment and the certificate.

If PSCA closes due to inclement weather, participants will be able to reschedule their workshop.  Please check the homepage for updates.

  • Student Practice Times

Student Practices are open practice times available to all currently enrolled students. They may be used as make-ups for missed classes or for additional practice time. There is an aerial coach available for questions, but students should review material already learned in class.

    Drop-ins

To schedule a drop-in to Student Practice, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or submit a form to makeups.phillycircus.com. Please note that scheduling for the weekend should be submitted by Thursday at 6pm as the office is closed on weekends.

Practices will be staffed by an aerial coach. The coach will not lead the class, but will be available to answer questions and/or adjust rigging throughout the practice.

    During Practice Time

    • Practice times are designed for you to review material already learned in class. Students should not teach each other tricks during practice.
    • There are no equipment assignments during practice time. If, during the practice, other students are using your chosen apparatus, this is something you must negotiate directly with them.
    • Please be responsible for your own health and safety. Do a thorough warmup. If something hurts, stop.
    • Please be courteous! Share equipment with other students. At the end of the practice, please help to dust off the mats, line them up along the walls and put away charts, spray rosin, etc.
